Another year, another WRAPSCON! Hundreds of installers, designers, and manufacturers from around the world gathered to attend the WRAPSCON 2018 at the Long Beach Convention Center in California. The three-day-event created by wrappers, for wrappers allows presenters and attendees to experience classes to learn about business, compete in wrap competitions, “Meet The Masters” from around the world, watch demos, learn about products, play with vinyl, and much more.
Over the course of the event was the WRAPSCON Wrap Olympics where teams compete in challenges wrapping various objects as fast and as best they can within a certain time limit. Some of these challenges include, helmets, brick walls, door handles – on the car, non-air-release, and commercial van doors. The judge panel consisting of Kevin Kempf – PG Nola, Jen Carney – Carbon Wraps, Keith Vu – Savage Wraps, Luis Tirado – WBC Graphics, Starla Miller – Miller Decals, and Adam Sumner – Wrapix Academy. Congratulations to “Team Samurai” who took home the grand prize!
Various social gatherings after the day’s events are a great way to unwind and connect with the industry. This year’s WRAPS VIP Event hosted by Wrapper Mapper, IBOW, DUB Magazine & DUB IR was held down by the water at The Reef Restaurant. A fantastic event catered with food, drinks, and fun events such as a die-cast car wrapping competition! A hilarious event where installers compete to design and wrap a toy car within a 5 minute window.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all next year at WRAPSCON 2019. If you’re in the wrap industry, this is definitely an event you don’t want to miss.
